Westbury Garden Rooms recently debuted at Decorex International Expo in London, opening the gateway to innovative new projects from interior designers, architects and homeowners worldwide.
But international projects are nothing new to this family business which has established an impressive reputation for its outstanding orangery and conservatory designs with over 30 years in the gardenarchitecture industry.
“Our first project abroad was the renovation of a penthouse apartment in Paris back in 1996 where our design offered the owner fantastic views over the city,” explains Managing Director, James Upton. “Our most recent commission – on a much larger scale – was an orangery-style pool enclosure for The Grand Hotel in Sri Lanka. The setting took our breath away.”
There’s something universally appealing about a garden room, but the prospect of undertaking such a project can be daunting, which is why the team at Westbury effortlessly guides clients through each step of the creative process, from the initial design consultation, through planning permission and project management right up to pinning down those essential finishing touches.
With no two buildings the same, the company’s custom design and build service takes into consideration clients’ individual needs, to deliver a building that is perfectly suited to both homeowner and home.
Such a great sense of light and space used to come with a hefty price tag, not to mention usability niggles – notably peaks and troughs in temperature which would dictate how and when such a heavily-glazed room could be used. With innovative design and the latest glass and timber technologies however, Westbury’s designers make it possible for a garden room to maintain a comfortable temperature in any climate.
Often including a kitchen, sitting room or dining area, a Westbury garden room can be enjoyed day-in, day-out, with customers citing that their new space has quickly become ‘the main living room’ in every sense of the word.
Westbury orangeries, conservatories and pool houses are British-made, manufactured in their affiliate factory workshop in rural Essex by a team of long-serving craftsmen. Combining modern technology with traditional techniques, each component is hand-finished with an unrivalled attention to detail that truly makes a difference to the building’s longevity.
The company’s values are firmly based around providing a top-quality building that requires little maintenance.
James concludes: “We want our clients to be able to enjoy their room and not be concerned about ongoing maintenance. We’ve spent years researching and refining our designs so that we can offer a building that requires very little upkeep; one that will still look fantastic in the years to come.”
