The design process is a creative journey, which starts with drawing up the design, discussing the different textures and choosing the right colours to create a unique bespoke rug.

“Many people have never designed a rug, so we are here to collaborate with clients, learning more about their needs, their space, their preferred fabric choices and more to ensure they get a product they adore,” Rachael explains.

Within one rug, Rachael can use five different textures, Velvet Cut pile, Loop pile, Tip-sheared loop and Twist pile. They can even hand sculpt specific areas to create a 3D effect, and then the yarn is dyed specifically for your rug to match to any colour scheme.

She is also clued up on all the latest trends, so she is a fountain of knowledge and guidance when it comes to creating your bespoke rug.

“One of the colour trends for 2018 is Ultra Violet which is a beautiful purple for anyone who wants that pop of colour in their interior,” she tells. “Whether you want it to be subtle or a statement piece, almost like a work of art, we can do it.”

Other popular trends include copper and gold in combination with lush velvets and deep, rich colours. Colours such as terracotta, rich browns, deep pinks and burgundy with splashes of orange and bright blue are also trending.

When it comes to patterns and designs, Herringbone, Terrazzo marble, retro patterns, cubes and African print are blowing up. But clients don’t have to follow the curve with your rug, you have the chance to be as original as they want.
