This characterful villa is located in the sought-after coastal resort of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat on the Côte d’Azur, between Nice and Monaco.
The enchanting town has preserved its privileged holiday haven status for many years. Its bijou harbour, choice of beaches, and stylish promenade characterise the place perfectly, attracting an esteemed clientele down the ages, including; Czar Nicolas II, Empress Eugenie, Charlie Chaplin, Gregory Peck, Jean Cocteau, Charles Aznavour and Elizabeth Taylor to name but a few.
The listed property designed by architectural icon, Oscar Niemeyer in 1972, was still in its original state but in need of renovation.
The new owner saw the potential of the property and asked us to “bring the house back to life“, all the while keeping its original grandeur. Oscar Niemeyer, famous for his mix of linear and curved design accents, delivered a similar signature blend of styles with this property. We from Aimo Plus Interiors were keen to ensure that his design pairing remained intact during the renovation.
A first priority was to create a new floor layout, as well as replace all windows. Retro-fitted smart-home essentials were also included (under-floor-heating, air conditioning, alarm-and media-systems) in an extremely short time frame.
The furniture, carpets and curtains were chosen in keeping with the client’s wishes. The finished project brief also included the home having the full complement of every-day essentials including crockery and cutlery, towels and linens as well as inspiring art and well-chosen decorative accessories.
The original colour concept mixing light cream and discrete oak tones was recaptured and brought back to life. A modern greige was added with highlight accents.
Premium brands including; Rubelli, Lelievre, Dornbracht, Toto, Liebherr, Miele and Gaggenau have also been incorporated to make this stunning holiday home a unique, haute-gamme experience.
