Cayman Islands design firm IDG puts an organic, modern spin on coastal design for this light-filled property surrounded by Caribbean green.
Sophisticated homes with exceptional function and flow are the calling card of IDG Cayman, so when they received the brief to create a natural, calming space with a highly considered layout for this canal-front home, they were more than up to the task.
“We had an empty canvas, and the goal was to furnish, accessorise and style the space to create an elevated yet inviting and homelike feel,” interior designer Jeanette Bruck explains.
To achieve the effortlessly chic look that captures the peaceful nature of the surroundings, the team employed raw, textured materials, soft hues blending neutrals, crisp whites and hints of ocean blue, and next-level comfort in thoughtfully chosen pieces.
The minimalist style and muted colour palette with earthy features and touch-me textiles play off the verdant tropical foliage framing the property, providing both contrast and complement and creating an effect that’s equal parts stylish and laidback.
“The living room is a standout as it feels casual and relaxed while being ultra-purposeful and high design, with pieces that are understated but top quality,” Jeanette says.
