Vanessa Hudgens is selling her long-time home, a secluded Mediterranean-style estate built into the foothills of Studio City, California, for $3.895 million.
Hudgens purchased the house for $2.75 million 10 years ago, when the "High School Musical" starlet was only 20.
In the last decade, Hudgens, 30, has put her personal touch on the spacious six-bedroom home, complementing the architecture with Moorish design touches, hanging Moroccan-style lamps and painting the stucco exterior in a crisp white.
Through carved wooden doors, the more than 5,000-square-foot house opens into a foyer that leads through an elaborate, tented arch to a grand spiral staircase. The open living spaces include a sitting room with a fireplace, built-in benches and large cut-outs in the wall that look into the adjacent dining room.
On the other side of the dining room is a large open kitchen with sage-painted cabinets and its own informal dining space. The kitchen wraps around to a family room, which has dramatic views over the city.
The second story encompasses the bedrooms and an office. In the master suite, a double-sided fireplace separates the bedroom from a sitting room, where Hudgens has decorated a wall in miniature carved female figures.
Two sets of glass French doors flood the master bedroom with light and lead to a front balcony with jetliner views over Los Angeles.
The home was built in 2006 at the base of a foothill, where the hillside, a canopy of trees and tall retaining wall provide complete privacy over its laguna-like backyard. Set over multiple levels, the outdoor space centres around a freeform pool and spa.
