Argentario Golf and Wellness Resort Tuscany

The Green Heart Of Tuscany

08.05.25

Argentario Golf and Wellness Resort offers a sublime escape in the stunning Tuscan countryside. Isabella Taylor books a tee-time on the lush fairways to discover more about this enchanting location.

The sun is just beginning to rise over the rolling hills of Maremma, casting golden light across the cork-oak forests and shimmering lagoon. A soft breeze carries the scent of wild rosemary and the distant murmur of the sea. This is Tuscany as it is meant to be -untouched, raw, and breathtakingly beautiful.

As you sip your morning espresso on the terrace of one of the Argentario Golf Villas, a curious deer might step cautiously out from the trees, pausing to inspect the fairway before continuing on its way. It’s a reminder that this is no ordinary golf resort - this is a place where luxury and nature exist in harmony, where sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, but a way of life.

The villas are part of Argentario Golf and Wellness Resort, Autograph Collection, a place that is unlike any other in Italy. From the moment you set foot on the grounds, you can sense a different philosophy at work - one that respects the natural rhythms of the land rather than reshaping it for convenience.

Take the golf course, for example. Here, you won’t find the artificially manicured perfection of traditional courses. Instead, the fairways are "naturally imperfect"—a conscious choice that has earned the course BioAgricert® Certification for its organic approach.

"We’re aware that our course is naturally imperfect, but it’s enough for us to explain our philosophy to golfers who come to play our course and nobody complains about any tiny imperfections.” explains Ottavio Coppola, the golf club manager. "They understand that this is part of being an eco-friendly, organic course.”

And when it comes to keeping birds from pecking at the greens? No harsh deterrents here -just a clever, all-natural trick. "We sprinkle chillies across the greens: the birds hate the spice, but it doesn’t harm them. A simple, sustainable solution."

Testament to the quality of the course, the resort was awarded PGA National Italy status by The PGA in 2019 and will host the prestigious Italian Open on the DP World Tour from 26 to 29 June 2025.

Walking around the estate and golf course, you notice the shimmering silver leaves of ancient olive trees stretching across the landscape - over 4,000 of them, in fact. These trees aren’t just for show; they produce the resort’s own organic olive oil, a staple in the kitchens of the two on-site restaurants.

Dama Dama is the fine dining restaurant, while Club House is the more informal dining outlet. Both interpret Tuscan and Italian cuisine differently but always using carefully selected regional, seasonal ingredients, ensuring that the food not only tastes exceptional but also supports local farmers and reduces the resort’s carbon footprint. Many vegetables and fruits come directly from the Resort’s organic vegetable garden. "No chemicals, no artificial enhancements - just sun, soil, and care," says Executive Chef Emiliano Lombardelli.

The way architecture and nature intertwine is one of the striking factors when you step inside one of the Argentario Golf Villas. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping views of the lagoon, golf course, and sea beyond. The villa itself seems to blend seamlessly into the hillside, its materials carefully chosen to reflect and respect the landscape.

Each villa is customisable, designed by Milan-based interior designer Andrea Fogli, allowing owners to create a space that is both personal and sustainable. The estate runs on renewable energy sources, with solar panels and water-recycling systems in place to minimise waste and energy consumption. Even the villa gardens are maintained without pesticides, preserving the delicate balance of the local ecosystem.

Investing in one of these villas isn’t just about owning a luxury retreat in Tuscany - it’s about becoming part of a sustainable way of life. Owners can enjoy their villa whenever they please, and when they’re away, the resort’s property management team rents it out to other eco-conscious travellers, ensuring a steady return on investment without any of the hassle.

Beyond the privacy of the homes, Argentario Golf Villas offers a sense of community and connection. Owners gain exclusive access to the PGA National Italy golf course, the Espace Wellness Centre, and the many cultural and culinary experiences that make Maremma one of Italy’s most enchanting regions.

And while the resort feels like a world of its own, it remains strategically located, just 90 minutes from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport, ideal for day trips to Florence, Siena, and Pisa, near charming coastal villages with a glamorous yachting scene like Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano and close to the wine regions of Chianti and Montalcino.
