Rooted in holistic health, Gentil's formulas are crafted to enhance and sustain women's intimate well-being, allowing them to live joyfully, freely, and on their own terms.
It’s the health condition so common that around 50% of women in the UK experience it in their lifetime. It can be debilitating – and yet urinary tract infections, or UTIs, remain shrouded in stigma, mystery, and sometimes, shame. It’s a problem that needs resolving.
Demystifying the conversation around UTIs and women’s health in general is the motivation behind Gentil, Australian made, female-founded intimate wellness brand for women.
Focusing on natural solutions for urinary tract support and maintenance, this holistic healthcare brand was created with women’s needs held firmly at its core. Gentil’s baseline offers simple and effective solutions to intimate health concerns that, until now, too many women have experienced in secrecy and pain.
As its name suggests, Gentil is setting out to redefine the intimate wellness industry through a new form of care and kindness. Gentil was founded by Monica Nakata, an early pioneer of the sexual wellness movement in Australia. Well known as the founder of cult offerings Oyster Magazine and Par Femme, an online platform for intimates and sex toys, it seems inevitable that Monica’s efforts would gravitate towards exploring solutions for distinctly feminine health concerns.
Through each of her platforms, Monica’s mission has always been to empower women and shift the perceptions of female pleasure and wellbeing in society. From her personal experiences of immune-compromised health and an avid interest in the voices of her community, she realised that the common issues surrounding urinary tract health – infections and maintenance in particular – were simply too important to dismiss. “The need to design simple and effective resources for women’s intimate care became increasingly apparent to me,” Monica says. “There was a generic focus on women’s health, without delving into the specific issues that were not discussed openly without stigma. The education, and dialogue, simply did not exist.” And so, with Gentil, Monica’s mission is simple: “Let’s increase the discussion and awareness. Let’s normalise the problem and the solution. Let’s find ways to prevent and better manage these issues for women that are both accessible, and elegant.”
