Traditionally considered the shoulder season in the Maldives, the summer months have once again delivered remarkable results for Sun Siyam Resorts — not only in occupancy but also in revenue performance across its portfolio of five luxury Maldivian properties.
In 2024, Sun Siyam Resorts recorded its most successful summer season to date, with significant growth across key source markets including the UK, China, Russia and Germany.
The momentum has continued into 2025, marking another record-breaking year for the homegrown Maldivian hospitality brand.

Deepak Booneady, CEO of Sun Siyam Resorts, commented: “This has been the strongest summer performance we have ever experienced, with all five of our Maldivian resorts achieving year-on-year increases in occupancy, averaging 85% across the summer months.
The UK market has been particularly robust, as travellers recognise the value of an all inclusive Maldivian escape, which is often comparable in cost to a summer holiday in Europe.” He continued: “We expect this positive trend to continue throughout the year, supported by enhanced airlift from the UK. British Airways’ year-round service to the Maldives, coupled with Virgin Atlantic’s operation during the winter season, positions the destination for sustained growth.”
Recent data confirms that 2025 has seen the highest proportion of British guests across all five Sun Siyam Resorts, located in three of the Maldives’ most stunning atolls — reaffirming the brand’s enduring appeal to UK travellers seeking authentic, luxury island experiences.
