The team at The Poured Project aren't in the habit of resting in their creative laurels. The company - the shared passion of a bijou 'family' of experts in concrete production, was founded by Andy Pedley, a British furniture maker with years of training in restoration and bespoke design. Today, the family-run, Yorkshire-based studio creates exceptional concrete pieces for residential and commercial interiors.
"Versatile and incredibly durable, concrete has a raw beauty akin to natural stone, but can be combined with an array of pigments and cast into any shape," Andy explains. "This means that, with the right expertise, the possibilities for bespoke design are endless."
With a flurry of exciting pieces currently in commission; each and every one designed by Andy is then customised with its very own unique template and mould. "Due to the nature of concrete, it allows our designs to be both elegant and practical," explains Andy. "The benefit of using concrete, is that it's naturally water resistant, can withstand extreme temperatures and retains the heat."
Causing a creative stir at present - the company's exciting new bath design will be going into production in the coming months. The concept aims to be both comfortable and stylish and will be available in a wide range of colours.
The company also create bespoke concrete worktops, splash backs, island tops and upstands. Andy adds: "Interior trends at present are incorporating lots of different materials and textures which work beautifully alongside concrete. We work exclusively with The Main Company in Harrogate for examples, providing this service for their handmade kitchens. It's a perfect match partnership we're looking forward to expanding." He adds: "There are some beautifully designed bespoke basins that we have created for clients that we especially enjoy producing. We get great pleasure from bringing to life a design that has someone has personally created. It makes our shared passion all worthwhile."
