Tell us about the company
We offer the full suite of design services from concept to completion. Our priority is to ensure that clients enjoy the process and for that reason, we are at pains to remove all of the stress, taking care of everything, from project management to sourcing and styling. We also design bespoke furniture. I feel it’s one of the most exciting and rewarding parts of what we do. The range spans stylish sofas and gorgeous wine racks to beautiful dressing rooms even libraries. We offer this level of customisation along with the option to use our skilled craftsmen to create the piece.
How would you describe your design style?
As with everything, your design imprint evolves and over the years. I’d say my signature style has become more minimal with sleeker lines and more defined spaces. That said, I love a range of styles, in much the same way as I appreciate a variety of musical genres. I also like Scandinavian design which exudes warmth and calmness. I find it really exciting working with different clients and exploring their tastes as well.
Where do you find inspiration for your bespoke pieces?
I take a lot of inspiration from natural forms; particularly the colours, shapes and textures of plants and animals. I’m also a keen follower of fashion and I often source style accents from objects such as the heel of a shoe or an intricate detail on a handbag or dress.
What are the fundamental differences in designing for Residential versus Commercial space?
The principal difference is the functionality of how the area is used. In an office environment, it’s important that the space is conducive to creating a high energy, focused workspace that encourages motivation. Conversely, a home should exude a calm, secure and relaxing space. These environments create a unique blueprint for the design of each project. Essentially, both briefs enable you to inject a level of creative flair and innovative thinking.
What trends do you see coming to the fore in the coming year?
The pandemic has changed our lives immeasurably and the way we use our homes reflects this. We now spend a lot more time inside our personal space, and therefore equipping the property with an office or home gym is high on the agenda for many clients. The desire to de-clutter is also leading to a preference for a simpler, minimalist design approach, which translate as calm, serene, neutral colour palettes, soft curved furniture and botanical elements.
