Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy remains faithful to Berliner Tor Center. As part of a management contract, Apleona Real Estate Management has secured the main tenant for the property in Hamburg on a long-term basis. The manufacturer of wind turbines has extended a rental agreement for 17,000 m² of office space.
Zurich Deutscher Herold Lebensversicherung AG bought the 80,000-m² office complex from a fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing for presumed €270 million in summer 2015, which was also the largest single investment transaction to that date on Hamburg's real estate market. On behalf of the owner, Apleona has been responsible for managing the Berliner Tor Center and lettings at the property since 2015. For property management clients, Apleona mostly takes the steps necessary to retain tenants and re-let vacant areas itself. “Besides the classic commercial services and the management of all subcontractors, increasingly supported by digital applications, letting management is the key qualification that our clients expect from us as a modern, leading property manager,” explained Dr. Ralf Lehmann, Managing Director of Apleona Real Estate Management.
The Berliner Tor Center with the address Beim Strohhause 17-31 is an office complex with 20 floors located close to the city in the St. Georg district of Hamburg. Built according to designs by Bothe Richter Teherani and featuring three towers that are roughly 80 meters tall and a characteristic façade made from steel and glass, the Berliner Tor Center is one of the best known and largest office buildings in the Hanseatic city.
