A single family home in the Cayman Islands broke records this month when it was sold for an impressive US $12.5 million.
Coconut Walk Estate on Seven Mile Beach scored the highest sale price for a stand-alone home in the island’s history. It eclipsed the last record price for a home sale by more than US $4.5 million.
The 7-bedroom home, which was sold by RE/MAX, sits on sits on 1.45 acres of beach front land close to Cemetery Beach in West Bay. The luxury, gated property was built in 2010 and has a private pool and more than 8,400 square feet of living space
Located in a more secluded area of Seven Mile Beach, the home boasts huge open windows while allowing for a quiet and inherently private setting. In the centre of the property, a beautiful waterfall flows as a focal point of the garden.
The elegant mansion contains a luxury chef's kitchen, dining room, children's media/game room and an adult cinema room. A yoga loft overlooks the grand salon and the pool is adorned with palm trees.
It’s the first residential home sale in the Cayman Islands for more than $10 million. There are currently twelve homes on the market in Grand Cayman that are listed for more than US$5 million, reflecting a boom for the real estate sector on the island.
