CONSERO LONDON ACQUIRE BIRCHVILLE COURT IN BUSHEY FOR NEW £50M MULTI-HOME DEVELOPMENT & EXPANSION DRIVE

Leading luxury developer Consero London has acquired the substantial 3.5 acre Birchville Court lodge-house and grounds in Bushey, on the border of London, and will redevelop the site into Heathbourne Village, a £50 million (GDV) premium residential scheme providing 41 residences set in landscaped grounds.

Located off Heathbourne Road (WD23 1PB), the Birchville Court site has planning consent for 41 residences including 22 private sale apartments and penthouses; five private sale detached houses, and 14 high quality shared ownership and social rented homes. In conjunction with the planners, Consero London are making minor revisions to the scheme prior to its official launch.

Heathbourne Village has been designed to provide traditional English country architecture based on the local vernacular, with features including contrasting brick and render elevations, feature brick detailing, pitched roofs and bay windows.

Architectural design is by luxury house specialists Metropolitan Development Consultancy (MDC Architects), with interior architecture, specification and design by in-house interior design team Consero Design.

The new address will be accessed via an entrance driveway and wide leafy boulevards, with the houses and apartments set in substantial landscaped grounds and private gardens. Consero London is in final discussions with preferred local estate agents who will be appointed to handle the sales and marketing of the development. Launch is anticipated to take place during Summer 2019.

Bushey is a highly sought after London commuter town located on the edge of the capital. Set in a beautiful and leafy location, Birchville Court was originally an Edwardian lodge-house, built in 1928 and owned by the Marjoribanks banking family.

In 1947 Birchville Court became an NHS Accommodation Building for Nurses (working at the nearby Bushey Maternity Hospital) and from 1987 a private nursing home.

The property has been rundown in recent years with planning applications for redevelopment back into private residential housing first mooted back in 2008. Now Consero London will return the site to its original use as a prestigious residential address.

Robert Osborn, Managing Director of Consero London says: “Consero London is known for the high quality of our classic British architecture and interiors and our ability to create schemes whose traditional vernacular and style compliment their local setting.”

Steven Glover, Land & Sales Director of Consero London says: “Returning the Birchville Court site to its residential origins will create exciting opportunities for buyers since a Consero London scheme in Bushey will provide premium homes that will set a benchmarch for high quality and good design in the local marketplace.”

Founded in 2004, Consero London have a well established pedigree as a luxury developer of apartments and houses in the Home Counties (particularly Wentworth and St Georges Hill) and Prime Central London. The developer has also done luxury overseas projects in a range of countries.

Over the past 12 months Consero London has benefitted from some £60 million worth of sales, facilitating the company’s next phase of expansion. Historically, Consero London’s ultra-prime product offering has been very bespoke and client led. Now the company has decided to expand its product offering in order to undertake developer-led multi-unit apartment and housing schemes across London and the Home Counties.

The acquisition of Birchville Court in Bushey is the first of the new site purchases based on the expansion plans. Consero London plan to build future developments in locations including Sunningdale, Woking, Maidenhead plus others currently under discussion. The new portfolio of apartments and houses will be priced from around £800,000 up to £2.5 million, providing the marketplace with a high quality yet competitively priced product.

Consero London are actively looking for more development sites for multi-unit projects across London and the Home Counties. For further information on Consero London contact Tel: +44 (0)1932 506 600 or visit: www.conserolondon.com
