Alexander Wharf Penthouse
Leading London developer St George recently launched Alexander Wharf Penthouse, an industrial style penthouse located in a historic area in east London.
Priced at £5.5 million, the penthouse comprises of two double bedrooms, a spacious en-suite master bedroom, a large utility room and separate WC. On the upper floor, to allow for the best views, is a large open plan kitchen and living area which opens onto a private wraparound roof terrace covering three sides of the property.
The wraparound terrace is a key feature of the penthouse and will provide the resident with spectacular panoramic views across Wapping, the River Thames, Canary Wharf and towards the City of London.
Taking inspiration from the site’s heritage as a former working dock, the penthouse has been dressed by interior design firm Happy Place, who have created a chic space inspired by the industrial nature of the working docks. Details include minimalist wire metal chandeliers and a statement Crittal-style interior window that divides the living room and staircase. The floor to ceiling windows also allow for an abundance of natural light throughout the penthouse, creating a sense of space and openness which flatter the unprecedented views.
Residents will also have access to a number of luxury amenities. Hotel-style ‘The Club’ offers residents a fully equipped gym by luxury gym and spa consultant motive8 and a 20m swimming pool area with sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. There is also a virtual golf course and brand new squash courts, perfect for those who prefer something a little different.
The Club further offers residents a treatment room for relaxing post-exercise massages, an entrance lobby with 24 hour concierge and a Club Lounge with fireplaces and boutique furnishings.
For those driving to the facilities there is a managed underground car park to keep vehicles safe.
The penthouse is at London Dock, the major redevelopment of the former News International headquarters into a mixed use neighbourhood with 1,800 new homes, 210,000 sq ft of commercial space set in six acres of public open space including Gauging Square, a new piazza with water fountains, cafés and restaurants.
The picturesque area has plenty to do for visiting guests and surrounding Gauging Square will be a collection of independent boutique restaurants, bars and shops, with Wright’s of London already open. At the heart of London Dock is Pennington Street Warehouse, a grade II-listed building which once stored high-value goods imported into the docks. It will be the commercial centre of the development brought back to life with eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and offices.
