An upcoming development is taking ‘ocean views’ to the next level with individual floating homes with one underwater level.
The Floating Seahorse is a one of a kind project, the result of more than 5,000 hours of research and 13,000 hours of design and engineering.
Led by design firm Kleindienst Group, development lies as the part of The Heart of Europe, a cluster of six islands on The World in Dubai – an archipelago of small islands constructed in the shape of the world map in the Persian Gulf off the coast of Dubai.
Described as ‘the world’s first luxury underwater living experience’, the homes are set among stunning coral reefs and marine life, with state-of-the-art technology and outdoor climate controlled areas.
Each individual Floating Seahorse boasts three levels, one underwater, one at sea level and an upper deck. The master bedroom and bathroom will be totally submerged underwater and will offer breath-taking views of the surrounding coral reef and marine life.
In a bid to protect and enhance the endangered seahorse population in the area, an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats is being created, providing a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.
The sea level accommodation will boast floor to ceiling windows, uninterrupted sea views, a fully-fitted kitchen with a dining area, an open plan living area and when the glass façade opens the sun deck becomes an extension of the living space.
The upper deck is the perfect place for alfresco dining and relaxation and features an informal bed, a mini bar, a kitchenette and a beautiful glass-bottomed Jacuzzi.
“The Floating Seahorse is a truly one off-project, offering buyers a unique ocean living proposition that to-date has been unavailable anywhere else in the world,” says Jane Smith, director of Prime New Developments. “It offers a highly impressive design and specification and is likely to appeal to affluent purchasers who already own a second property, and are looking for a ‘where do I go next?’ purchase.
She continues: “As is historically noted, ocean views have always been top of buyer’s wish lists – with The Floating Seahorse taking this to a very literal next level.”
The resort is being completed in two phases, the first to complete in 2019 and the final one in 2020. Inhabitants will be able to reach their Seahorse home via boat or seaplane.
