Luxe Rail Experience Debuts Golfing Getaway in Tuscany

The Argentario Golf Club at the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort is delighted to be featured in the La Dolce Vita Orient Express offering which is bringing a brand new series of luxury travel itineraries created especially for golfers.

The highly regarded Orient Express has included the championship golf course at the Argentario Golf Club as one of the exclusive stops on its programmes allowing guests to stop off in the Maremma and take in a round of golf set against the stunning backdrop of the Monte Argentario promontory.

Argentario Golf Club was no doubt chosen thanks to the fact that it is the only course in the country to be awarded PGA National Italy status by The PGA whilst recently it played host to the 2025 Italian Open on the DP World Tour, when over 150 top international golf professionals competed in one of Europe’s most established national Opens.

Indeed as a special partner of this high profile tournament, La Dolce Vita Orient Express announced its new travel experiences combining world-class golf and timeless Italian elegance to coincide with the staging of the prestigious Italian Open.

Two different itineraries have been designed with true golf lovers in mind; the Northern Greens and the Italian Swing, which will both transport passengers across Italy to some of its most celebrated golfing destinations, travelling aboard the luxurious La Dolce Vita train.

Argentario is part of both journeys; the Italian Swing which also stops at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, San Domenico Golf Club and The Club at Castiglion del Bosco, with the opportunity to jump on board in either March or November next year.

Meanwhile the Northern Greens again features Marco Simone Golf & Country Club alongside Franciacorta Golf Club, Royal Park I Roveri as well as Argentario, departing in May and September 2026.

It is all about traveling in the utmost style, with Michelin-starred cuisine and golf masterclasses all set against the backdrop of breathtaking landscapes. Set on the Monte Argentario promontory, Argentario’s eco-friendly golf course meanders through cork-oak woods and ancient olive groves. The 6,218 metre, par 71 layout features 18 holes boasting spectacular panoramas over the Orbetello Lagoon, the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Monte Argentario hillside. And, at this time of year, its unique location creates a microclimate that allows for clement, bright conditions for golf.

A varied and technically challenging course thanks to tight fairways, water hazards and tricky greens, it demands a combination of accuracy and power as well as strategic course management that makes it testing for amateurs and professionals alike.
