Harvest Kaplankaya gathered some of the world’s most prestigious experts on wellbeing, genetics, nutrition, wellness, children’s health, mindfulness and lifestyle for a summit during Kaplankaya’s olive harvest season.
Harvest was the first event of its kind to take place here at Kaplankaya. Over the course of a weekend, we introduced our guests to a series of talks led by experts and globally renowned authorities on health and wellbeing. Alongside these, the Six Senses Spa & Resort hosted a series of spa and sport-related events for the participants to enjoy. Guests were encouraged to focus on their own health and wellbeing whilst indulging in the natural luxuries that Kaplankaya has on offer.
Angel Kyodo Williams opened up the Harvest summit with a meditation followed by a talk about sensitivity and the processes that one needs to go through in order to open up to the changes necessary to mature emotionally and spiritually. Lisa Odenweller, wellness entrepreneur and consultant, spoke on the topic of food and nutrition and its importance in our daily lives.
She also offered guests the opportunity to taste the innovative food products she has created during her ‘superfood’ event. In addition, Anna Bjurstram, one of the world’s leading wellness pioneers, shared her forward-thinking views on biohacking our bodies.
The next day, Dr. Harvey Karp lead a session about his insight into what he terms the “nuclear family” as well as the importance of the third trimester in pregnancy, providing his audience with golden tips to be better parents based on his famous 5S methodology. His talk centered on the ways in which one is able to use genetic structure to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Pulitzer Prize finalist Jamie Wheal followed suit, sharing his tips on optimizing physical and mental performance whilst National Geographic’s award-winning journalist Dan Buettner spoke about his theories behind the world’s longest-living and healthiest societies, drawing parallels in the rituals and cultural features that these communities share. Last but not least, Lisa de Narvaez took her audience through a series of breathing sessions and exercises that can be used to help clear the mind, calm the senses and cleanse the body of suppressed emotions.
Following a successful debut last year, Harvest will return to Kaplankaya, Turkey on 24-26 May with a new addition to the series – Harvest Nature. This three-day experience, based at the Six Senses resort, will host up to 15 internationally renowned speakers to discuss themes relating to the exploration and conservation of the planet all with a positive focus. Welcoming an audience of around 200 including business leaders, entrepreneurs and activists, the conference will offer a number of hands-on workshops and activities including yoga, paddle boarding, breathing workshops and more.
