Is your current treatment alone not controlling your chronic pain?

LVL is a chronic pain management clinic that may be able to offer you cannabis as part of your pain management care, if our doctors believe it would be safe and beneficial for you*. LVL conducts formal cannabis studies at its clinics and only patients of the clinic will be offered the opportunity of being enrolled in the studies being undertaken at the clinic. The aim of the trials is to collect data for submission to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the NHS, which could lead to cannabis treatments being regularly prescribed free by the NHS – potentially benefiting millions of people.

Andrea came to LVL Health in January 2022 with psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. She was receiving 14 different prescriptions for medication from her doctors, with up to 40 tablets a day, such as opiates and sleeping pills. She was even taking laxatives to help with constipation caused by other medication. She had chronic pain all over her body and regularly only slept two hours a night. She was forced to retire from her job at only 33 years old and spent the next six years looking for help with her condition. As she says herself: “I tried so many different therapies and managed to get my arthritis under control but for fibromyalgia, there isn’t anything, no magical pill.”

As part of our customised treatment plan, Andrea was given access to our inhaler that delivers cartridges containing a calibrated amount of ‘whole-flower’ unprocessed cannabis daily. “To begin with I was completely knocked out, but you do get used to it. Straight away my sleep was a million times better. I probably hadn’t had a proper night’s sleep since 2012 and I was able to stop taking any sleeping pills. My pain levels have completely dropped as well.”

We are thrilled at LVL Health with Andrea’s progress and her journey with us. As a result, they will be able to decide whether cannabis should be licenced as an NHS medication for up to 15 million persons suffering in the UK.
