Interior design is not a one size fits all process. It takes a personal connection. The team at Interiors by Sarah Ward explain how their bespoke service works. By Rosa Graham
When it comes to creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing space, the ‘human touch’ is essential. Successful design should take account of this, to make a home unmistakably personal, and to enhance day-to-day life, not hinder it. It’s this ethos which is at the heart of Interiors by Sarah Ward.
As a family run business with over 30 years’ experience, Sarah understands the importance of connecting with clients, and working hard to achieve a familiarity that enables the successful creation of unique and bespoke living environments.
“It’s down to the to the touch-point details, for example, whether a client is right or left handed, what sort of heating system they might prefer,” she explains. “It’s about discovering exactly what a client doesn’t want as much as taking account of their must-haves, and respecting their dreams and aspirations.
“We dissect all of this information to appropriately plan a space. By doing so, we effectively keep the end result firmly fixed in our minds.”
The design starts with an initial meeting – whether the particular project is a new development or a private refurbishment. Sarah and her team talk through examples of their work while discussing personal styles and the scope of the client’s project.
“Once we get a feel for requirements – as well as budget – we put a concept design together, drawing on the appropriate interior trends to best suit the brief,” she adds.
Then, using the agency’s network of preferred suppliers, the team put together in-depth costings as well as preparing floor plans, furniture layouts, mood boards and selecting finishing swatches which come together in a fully scoped brief.
“We co-ordinate every step of the project, from electrical works to installation of furnishings, to ensure that everything is finished to a quality we would be proud of,” she explains. This eye for detail, discretion and focus on personal service has won Sarah and her team a string of design awards.
She adds: “Our expertise is diverse and all-encompassing to manage the ultimate process of any interior design project.”
