For many skiers, it’s a potent dream, the idea of not just enjoying the mountains, but owning a little piece of it too.
That’s where Knight Frank’s property expertise comes in. The company boasts an unrivalled network across the French and Swiss Alps with branded offices in Chamonix, Megève, Courchevel, Courchevel Moriond, Courchevel Village, Méribel Centre, Méribel Village and Val d’Isère.
In Switzerland the business covers Verbier, Villars, Crans Montana, St. Moritz and Gstaad.
This year’s Ski Property Report from Knight Frank found the best performing resorts were those which have adapted to become year-round destinations.
Chamonix is a case in point. Widely recognised as the leading ‘all-seasons’ Alpine destination, with more visitors to Europe’s highest mountain in summer than in winter, Chamonix also leads the Alpine Property Price Index with +4.8%.
Successful resorts are also those that invest heavily in their infrastructure such as Val d’Isère which stands a close second in the rankings with +2% on the APPI.
A spokesman for Knight Frank says: “We have an unparalleled knowledge of the Alps and are available to discuss all of your needs from identifying the best property to buy through to how to best manage your home when you’ve packed your skis away.”
