Abode2 explores the enchanting and elegant design by renowned luxury kitchen designer, Smallbone, at one of their recent projects, Gold Wood 

Smallbone is the world’s finest luxury kitchen and bespoke cabinetry maker, specialising in British design handcrafted in the depths of the Wiltshire countryside. They are famed for meticulous quality and inspirational designs, predominantly in kitchens and extending into wine rooms, media rooms, bedrooms and dressing rooms.

Their latest international campaign is set within acres of beautiful forested landscape in Northern California, Gold Wood whole house concept is inspired by the De Stijl design movement. A shimmering gold-toned blade sits amidst cubism influences with a nod to ‘Drowning in Luxury’ the lavish photography of legendary Slim Aarons.

Smallbone have created two ultimate limited edition kitchen concepts where gastromy, creativity and interior design combine to inspiring effect. Indoor-Outdoor Modernist is both innovative and minimalistic within their new whole house campaign.

This sleek indoor design has superior quality finishes. The central island with a liquid metal finish and Cabernet Brown worktop is set off by the splashback of Kayrus Grey Granite. Glamourous detailing of De Castelli brushed bronze inlays and a smoked oak bar top complete this unique area of cooking theatre.

Guests can be entertained from the social seating area and the consistent message throughout this house of preserving nature showcases this unique dining table of live edged Oak, stained with matt lacquer. The Modernist Day to Evening Cabinet has been updated with brushed De Castelli bronze liquid metal mixed with the original grey stained Oak.

The ultimate outdoor dining experience can be enriched with their newly created alfresco concept. This fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with stunning panoramic views, is further enhanced with a nearby pool and a sunken lounging oasis. A sculpted solid weathered Oak table with smoked glass and bronze moulded feature is cleverly juxtaposed with an original natural sculpture of a preserved 150 years old Oak tree- the best dinner party talking point.

The entertaining terrace is completed with an outdoor kitchen consisting of cast concrete worktops with polished bronze-gold cladding. It's the perfect streamlined setup for socialising whilst guests relax at the bar and hosts cook up a storm on the adjacent integrated barbeque.
