Prestigious London-based design studio Laura Hammett unveils the interiors of a stunning private luxury residence located in a highly sought-after area in the heart of Knightsbridge, London.
The property, which features pieces from Laura’s new lighting collection ‘The Facet Collection’, is an extremely spacious three-bedroom lateral apartment, arranged over 3,700 square feet. Showcasing the studio’s signature classic contemporary design style and maximum elegance, the apartment has been configured to benefit from ample natural light and space whilst offering extra privacy thanks to elegant pocket doors dividing adjoining rooms, which makes the residence ideal for entertaining.
Showcasing premium living in a prestigious London address, the apartment is the epitome of timeless and sophisticated design, thanks to an impeccable attention to quality and craftsmanship. A subtle colour palette of neutral tones in nubuck leather, velvet and wool is complemented by deep blue hues and bronze detailing throughout; the warm metallic features, as well as the high-gloss timber finish, reflect the owner’s personal taste whilst highlighting the rich heritage of the surrounding area.
Key features include the use of precious varieties of Italian marbles, such as Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble in the master bathroom, decorative panelling and dark wood-paneled walls, as well as bronze eglomise by supplier of handmade specialist finishes Stuart Fox.
Highlights include Laura Hammett’s exquisite new lighting collection made in collaboration with decorative lighting company Bella Figura and launched during London Design Week last September. ‘The Facet Collection’ comprises ceiling lights, wall light and a unique table lamp, all featuring in various spaces of the apartment; each product showcased in the residence is finished with a 'Dry Ice' Murano glass set into brushed bronze metalwork. The majority of the furniture pieces and the remaining lighting fixtures are bespoke, with the exception of the ceiling light in the master bedroom.
As you enter the apartment, you step out into a hallway leading to the media room, which features rich dark wood-panelled walls complemented by light grey leather wall panelling and a sophisticated colour palette of blue and grey, enriched by the warm earthy tones of the cushions, featuring fabrics from Holly Hunt and Fox Linton; the rich blue velvet of the sofa is from Eric Kuster.
Pocket doors lead to spacious living spaces; upon entering the light filled library and adjoining formal living room, your eye is drawn to two sleek and sumptuous Facet Round Chandeliers, which hang above both spaces. Bespoke velvet armchairs and sofas with fabrics from De La Cuona and Fox Linton are sitting on a luxury hand tufted rug by Colbourns, with statement side tables from FBC.
From the living room, an archway lead trough to the sophisticated formal dining room featuring a statement bespoke chandelier that lights up the space, and a striking black fireplace. Bespoke velvet chairs are set around a high gloss table with marquetry top.
As you step out, a long corridor with striking white marble flooring and bronze eglomise wall by Stuart Fox leads you to a dramatic marble powder room and to the three bedroom suites.
The spacious master suite includes a spectacular Ebony Macassar dressing room with backlit bronze glass doors and a stunning bathroom entirely made of Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble. The master bedroom is decorated with shades of warm neautrals, complemented by rich blue accents. Key features are the beautiful leather panel headboard, the unique Facet table lamps, which drive attention to the bespoke bedside tables, and the sleek Savile Row Two Tier Chandelier, part of Bella Figura’s Mayfair Collection. The space features bespoke bed and armchairs from Baker.
Laura Hammett, Founder of Laura Hammett Interiors comments: “It was a great pleasure to work on such an exceptional project in one of London’s most prestigious addresses. We wanted to infuse the residence with a contemporary masculine sensibility, and I feel that our new lighting collection, which is showcased for the first time following the launch in September, combined with a neutral colour palette and a rich dark wood panelling, allowed us to create a space that evokes a warm yet masculine feel.”
The interior design scheme has been entirely curated by Laura Hammett, maintaining the interior architecture elements orginally designed by architecture pratice Scott Brownrigg.
