Established in 1970 by Tricia Guild O.B.E, Designers Guild designs outstanding furnishing fabrics, wallcoverings, upholstery and bed and bath collections worldwide. Tricia Guild O.B.E is the creative force of Designers Guild and has been at the forefront of interior design since starting the company in the early 70’s. Internationally renowned for her passion for colour, pattern and texture as well as her signature lifestyle brand and books, Tricia Guild has been setting the pace with her dynamic and innovative collections, instantly recognisable for her unique and contemporary style.
Since 2010, the iconic, colourful and baroque universe of the Maison Christian Lacroix celebrates the art of living through creativity and freedom. Under the creative direction of Sacha Walckhoff, and in collaboration with prestigious designers and manufacturers, the fabric, wallpaper, decorative items and tableware collections are revered the world over.
The two iconic brands have collaborated on a new collection, bring their unique and innovative styles and passions together, resulting in stunning pieces and designs.
“Utopia” is the finale of the trilogy we began just two years ago with “L’Odyssée” and “Atlantis”. Recent events have led us all to rethink how we see our homes and how we live in them. So at Christian Lacroix Maison, we wanted to add even more imagination, spirit and freedom to our collections so they could be combined to suit each person’s preferences and needs. We drew inspiration from the “world after” that we have all been dreaming of to create our new opus, “Utopia”, where things are not always what they seem, and where, most importantly, impossible does not exist here.
Algae Bloom Feather Park Darius Garden
“Algae Bloom” is the first example of this. The design comes on velvet, cotton sateen and wallpaper and combines plant and aquatic life with minerals. It sketches a new world where malachite takes on a moire effect and algae mimics the finest lace.
“Feather Park” comes on velvet, cotton sateen, rugs and flocked wallpaper. It grows in a French-style garden where plants are both feathers and leaves, and where you cannot really tell where one ends and the other begins.
“Darius Garden” is a sumptuous jacquard whose moire evokes agate on which shimmering embroidered roses from the East blossom.
Persian Nights & Mineral Creek Sélam
“Mineral Creek” comes in a panorama of ephemeral half-cloud, half-stone minerals that appear to defy gravity.
“Persian Nights” is another panorama featuring the cosmos with stars that appear in the swirl of a thousand and one sparkling pearls.
“Sélam” features ribbons of rare flowers on a light shantung fabric in the style of veils worn long ago by beauties in sunrise lands eagerly deciphering enigmatic bouquets.
“Jardin des Hespérides” is a mystical place in Atlantis. We have reinvented it as a cloud of polychrome corollas floating on a deep velvet as well as a captivating panorama.
Finally, “It’s Paradise” is a large, soothing and magical landscape that serves as the finale for this season whose keywords are joie de vivre and freedom. And at Christian Lacroix Maison, those things are not utopia.
