Beloved actress and serial home flipper Diane Keaton has put her "dream" house on the market for $29 million—eight years after finishing an extensive gut renovation that became the focus of a bestselling book, aptly-titled: "The House that Pinterest Built."
Keaton, 79, who has bought, renovated, and sold multiple properties in the 40 years since she's been living back in Los Angeles, has developed a keen talent for home flipping, particularly when it came to the restoration of neglected or abandoned properties.
However, after moving into her Sullivan Canyon dwelling in 2017 - after spending three years completely gutting and then rebuilding the historic house - Keaton admitted that she believed the home might well be the property in which she would actually settle down.
But now it seems the L.A. native is ready to move on yet again, putting the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom 1920s dwelling on the market for the first time in more than two decades.
It is all the more significant a moment for Keaton, who not only spent years carefully restoring the abode and curating the perfect interior, but also documenting the process in a 2017 book that saw her opening up about how her newfound love of Pinterest helped to provide her with inspiration throughout the renovation process.
The "Annie Hall" star revealed that her purchase of the property was actually inspired by her love of "The Three Little Pigs," which her mother read to her when she was a child - and which cemented her dream of living in a brick home when she grew up.
Although the home is located in Los Angeles, Keaton explained that much of the design was inspired by her former New York City apartment, an historic space located in a 1930s Beaux Arts building, which she moved into in the 1970s.
"It was one of those remarkable apartments," she said. "There was a window on every side. Everything was wide open. That was the beginning of my true interest in architecture."
The listing for Keaton's home clearly highlights her painstaking renovation process - and the incredible attention to detail that was paid during the property's renovation.
Spread across more than 9,200 square feet on a 0.65-acre lot, the home boasts multiple fireplaces, an outdoor pool, soaring ceilings and a guesthouse.
