The developer, which acquired 60 Thomas Street last year, claimed the development would be “London’s most sustainable office tower”.
The new office will have BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum certification, which will make it the only office tower in London with both accreditations at this level.
Pilbrow and Partners is the scheme’s architect. Designs will include a public park next to the building, planted balconies, underfloor air supply with natural ventilation to improve air quality, and floor to ceiling windows.
Facilities include a tenant’s club with large terrace, a gym, bike parking and a ground-floor coffee bar open to the public.
Boudewijn Ruitenburg, EDGE’s chief operating officer, said: “These trying times make the importance of healthier and more sustainable buildings even more clear. We will continue to address this in working with all our stakeholders and partners.
“We aim to make EDGE London Bridge the most sustainable office tower in London, offering high-quality office space with the highest wellbeing standards. We aim to make a significant and sustainable impact on further development in London, without losing sight of the history and heritage that is part of London’s appeal.”
