A luxury North Texas estate, dubbed ‘The White House’ of Dallas, has sold after being listed for $10.9 million.
The lavish property, which sits on more than three acres of land and has been designed as a replica of the Presidential home, first hit the market last summer.
The 16,041-square-foot home has 14-foot ceilings, a 2-story entry foyer with French limestone flooring, a wine grotto, a home theater and a full catering kitchen. The abode also features a library with a 17th century Louis XIII fireplace and Louis XIV-styled Italian chandeliers.
To the rear of the property is a six-car garage, tennis court, bath house, outdoor kitchen and, of course, a koi pond. The previous owners spent two years remodeling the house, which has four bedrooms and nine full and half bathrooms.
The home was listed by Becky Gruber from Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, along with Diane Gruber, from DPMRE. Becky said of the luxury property market in Dallas: “Homes in the $10 million-plus range perform differently, so seeing these large sales happen, along with so many companies continuing to relocate here, indicates to us that Dallas remains an economic powerhouse people feel comfortable living in.
Ralph and Cathy Oats, founders of Wellness International Network, a manufacturer of health and nutrition products, were the sellers of the home after purchasing it in 2001. The name of the buyer has not been revealed.
