As London's buzz returns and office workers fill the tubes in their masses again, the priorities of buyers in the capital are changing. Having moved out of London at the beginning of the pandemic, 'boomerang buyers' are favouring the idea of a city 'bolt hole' to reside during the week to travel to work more easily. Savills announced prices for prime central London flats has grown by 0.6% on the year, the first positive annual figure since 2014, and Knight Frank reported a spike in the number of new buyers from outside the capital registering in search of a London flat. London is back.
In terms of what buyers want this time around, for convenience, on top of buyers' wish list is no longer proximity to green space or parks, it's proximity to the tube or train station, according to Savills' latest September buyer survey, further proving that those returning want easily accessible lock up and leave properties for Monday - Friday.
With this in mind, Abode2 takes a look at the London market for some of the most luxurious homes less than 5 minutes from a tube station
The first is Regent's Crescent, Marylebone, only a 2-minute walk to Regent's Park tube station.
Regent's Crescent comprises 68 Grade I listed apartments and nine Garden Villas, overlooking Park Crescent park and a stone's throw from Regents Park. It's London’s first and only Grade I listed new build development, set behind an elegant façade originally designed by John Nash in 1820.
This majestic building and the surrounding environs of Regent Street and Regent’s Park were famously commissioned by Prince Regent, later King George IV. Residents have access to 9,000 square feet of amenity space as well as the private Park Crescent gardens and the development’s own 1.5-acre landscaped gardens.
Two-bedroom apartments start from £2.9 million
