Gerard Butler could potentially be your new landlord—for the price of $17,500 per month. The 300 actor recently put his picturesque Spanish Revival–style Los Feliz residence on the rental market after failing to find a buyer for it in 2016. He originally purchased it for $3.25 million in 2008.
Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, the 4,490-square-foot home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms set upon a foundation built back in 1930, and it is being offered fully furnished. The exterior retains much of the building’s original structure and period detailing, including a carved wood entry gate, stone steps that lead down to a shaded front courtyard, and an outdoor river-rock fireplace. A set of brick-laden stairs leads directly from the front courtyard to a balcony on the second floor, and a unique turret stands proudly above that.
Inside, the front foyer immediately hearkens to the home’s architectural past, with polished, patterned Spanish floor tiles and a tiled staircase with wrought-iron railings. The step-down living room just off the entryway is bright and airy thanks to numerous French doors leading outside. Wood beams bring an Old World touch to the space, and to the dining room, which boasts a unique hand-painted floral ceiling mural.
The kitchen appears to be substantially more modern, with concrete countertops, dark wood cabinets, and stainless-steel appliances. Just off the kitchen is a family game room, with a crimson velvet-topped billiards table that fits the home perfectly.
One of the most interesting features of the home is the turret, which is accessible via a tight corkscrew staircase. There, about a dozen wood-trimmed arched windows provide an impressive 360-degree view. The home’s other amenities include a fitness room, a home theater with a carved stone fireplace, a plunge-size swimming pool and spa, and an elevated open-air pavilion ideal for lounging. Fun fact: Previous owners of the home include singer Sia and actor Jason Segel.
