Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
Brighton College Singapore was delighted to host its very first Parents’ Cultural Workshop in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most cherished events in the Chinese calendar, sharing in an afternoon of creativity, learning, and community spirit.
Throughout the workshop, families explored the beauty of Chinese character writing, learning the art and meaning behind traditional brushstrokes. Parents and pupils also took part in lantern-making, crafting colourful and intricate designs that lit up the room with festive cheer. The highlight of the afternoon, however, was the mooncake-making session, where everyone had the chance to prepare — and, of course, enjoy tasting — this iconic seasonal treat.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture, language, and tradition while strengthening the bonds within the Brighton College Singapore community. Laughter and conversation filled the room as participants discovered the joy of cultural exchange and hands-on creativity.
The afternoon concluded with warm wishes for good fortune, unity, and happiness — the very essence of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It was a truly memorable celebration, reminding everyone of the value of learning from one another and embracing the diversity that enriches our communities.
