Art in the Algarve

The Magnolia Hotel will be showcasing its first ‘ART @ The MAG’ exhibition on 12th April 2019, previewing the work of Irish sisters and artists, Cavanagh and Gigi Foyle. Proudly supporting the arts by celebrating up-and-coming talent, the exhibition will exclusively display both artists’ dazzling LED neon art and vibrant modern pop art. Guests will receive a warm welcome and cocktail reception at The Magnolia Hotel – the perfect venue for an art exhibition, featuring quirky design aspects and a stylish setting. This event will mark the first of many pop-up art exhibitions at the hotel, all in partnership with Omey Projects.

The Magnolia Hotel has teamed up with Omey Projects, an art consultancy based in Portugal, for a special preview of the work of Irish sisters and artists, Cavanagh and Gigi Foyle. Cavanagh comments, “I give a lot of credit to projects like ART @ The MAG that see the benefit in promoting emerging artists. I personally believe the arts is the new rock and roll so I’m excited to see it getting the attention it deserves”.

The art duo’s ‘SKIN’ series of modern pop art will be on display for six weeks, exclusively available at The Magnolia Hotel and free to guests and the general public. Cavanagh adds, “My SKIN Series is a summer inspired collection of colourful mixed media paintings. I love that The Magnolia Hotel has this vibrant summer feel because my inspiration for this series was taken from Miami and the South Beach bikini lifestyle.”

Additionally, bag&bones, founded by Gigi Foyle, is an innovative LED neon art label grounded in high quality and unmistakable design. The Magnolia Hotel will be displaying the artists’ dazzling LED neon art at the event. “We’re very excited about ART @ The MAG,” says Gigi. “I really admire hotels like The Magnolia Hotel that push the boundaries with art and display art collections - it shows that you don't have to be a gallery to bring art to the people.”
