Adventure travel specialists Eleven Experience launched a new luxury chalet during the 2018/19 winter season. Chalet Hibou (meaning owl in French), is a stylish and spacious chalet located deep in the heart of the French Alps, perched on the French and Italian border, in the stunning Tarentaise Valley - the local’s best-kept secret and a haven for winter sports.

The new chalet is a neighbour for Eleven’s original Chalet Pelerin, and is nestled in the tiny and remote historic farming village of Le Miroir.  It is spread over 6,135 square feet and sleeps up to 12 guests in six en-suite bedrooms. With interiors in keeping with its alpine surroundings, the chalet has a steam room, sauna, hot tub and expansive outdoor patios with panoramic views across the valley.

On its doorstep, is a vast winter playground to explore, and guests can try their hand at on and off piste skiing, Nordic skiing, ice climbing, dog sledding, snow shoeing and exhilarating heli-skiing across the French / Italian border.

Spoilt for choice, guests have access to a huge variety of ski terrain, with Sainte Foy, Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosière all within an easy reach 30-minute drive of the chalet.  As well as discovering the local resorts, taking time to ski or snowshoe up to Eleven’s private mountain outpost L’Alpage, for a sumptuous lunch or dinner is a must.

Shelter from the cold around a flickering bonfire and then move indoors for a candlelit feast of savoie specialities such as fondue followed by a hearty helping of steak with potatoes gratin whipped up by the chalet’s resident private chef.
