The UK government has launched a “wholesale review” of the architecture profession and is looking for opinions from the built environment industry on how delivery can and should be improved. A Call for Evidence, is the first part of a wider review aimed at “modernising regulation, improving diversity and upholding UK’s global reputation in architecture.” The review is looking for insights on topics including: the role of the regulation of architects in ensuring a more sustainable built environment and how the government can promote innovation in the sector.
Architects are continuing to feel good about the state of the market post Covid, with practices in all UK regions expecting workloads to grow over the next four months, for the sixth consecutive month. Private housing and commercial sectors continue to lead the uptick, with the latest update from RIBA confirming a “strongly positive” Future Workload Index reading.
