Nestled considerately on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, Muraba Residences stands out from the crowd thanks to its innovative approach to design with a focus on providing an experience. The 50 extraordinarily private units – 46 two- and three-bedroom apartments and four four- and five-bedroom penthouses truly embrace the ethos of its parent, Muraba, a boutique luxury development company, headquartered in Dubai.
Muraba’s raison d’etre is to deliver well-considered buildings of architectural merit, which resonate with more discerning customers. The Muraba approach is all about being hands-on, working with a hand-picked team to embrace a location and produce remarkable spaces for living.
“The starting point was finding the right location” explains Muraba founder, Ibrahim Al Ghurair. “Then, it was a collaboration between our team and our chosen architects. The guiding principle was always ‘how do we create something that is both an exceptional space and delivers an enjoyable experience?’.
To realise the vision, Muraba found the perfect partner in RCR Arquitectes, 2017 Pritzker Prize Laureates. Al Ghurair was impressed by the fact that the spaces created by the Spanish architectural firm – founded by Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta – went beyond the bricks and mortar alone, and the fact that there was an aesthetic language in each of their projects that one could not fail to notice.
The Palm Jumeirah waterfront location was a big draw for RCR: “We instantly loved the site when we visited it, particularly with its stunning view over the ocean,” Carme Pigem says.
“It’s a place where the water is very calm; very blue. In particular, the view of the Burj Al Arab, and then the silhouette of Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa in the background blew us away – then behind, the beach and beyond.
“Really, the view from all directions gave us a lot of information about the project. The location and its environment were the main inspirations for Muraba Residences, as we recognised the need for spaces to be fluid in relation to the exterior. The idea is to be able to experience the exterior from the interior, and it’s something we feel has not only been achieved, but in such a way that has exceeded our expectations.”
Upon completion, the promise of an experience was delivered, Al Ghurair notes “Wherever you are in a Muraba Residences apartment, you feel you are in the sea. Whether you’re in the dining room or the kitchen, you always feel the sea present – and that is exactly the kind of unique and immersive experience we had in mind.”
Muraba prides itself on delivering on its promise and Muraba Residences is the epitome of this. From designing and creating a memorable living experience, to ensuring the clean and contemporary aesthetic was accentuated with carefully selected high-end fixtures, fittings and finishes. The 50 units, aligned with the rising and the setting of the sun and so that each apartment enjoys panoramic sea views, provide a serene and private home life away from the hustle of Dubai, whilst still being close enough to take advantage of what the vibrant city has to offer.
