Rainsborough Square is a two-acre site now a residential square of 40 townhouses by developer London Square that was completed in 2015.  The site was first occupied by market gardens in 1869-74. In 1880 the site was used by the London Road Car Company, one of the largest proprietors of horse-drawn buses in London, as their depot. The site was also one of the largest and finest horse stables in London and contained two-storey stables that were ranged around a quadrangle, where 700 horses lived in about 1890.
