All she wants for Christmas is you, but Mariah Carey clearly has richer tastes in homes.
The renowned vocalist is renting an eight-bedroom house in Beverly Hills for $35,000 a month following her divorce from American rapper and entrepreneur Nick Cannon. The We Belong Together singer has been renting across Los Angeles since her divorce was finalised in late 2016, and she is now residing in the former home of her former American Idol co-judge Nicki Minaj.
The 10,337 square foot, peach-coloured Mediterranean mega-mansion, is tucked into a gated enclave on a slightly more than one-acre canyon-and city-view parcel that was once the site of Frank Sinatra’s home.
The grand home features a statement staircase, swimming pool, plunge pool, spa and a roof terrace, as well as four bathrooms and stunning views of the city. For extra comfort, there are two living rooms with cosy fireplaces and a huge library, which sits alongside them.
But shelling out this amount each month for a home comes at no pain for Mariah - who has a reported net worth of a net worth of more than half a billion dollars. She relocated to her new abode from a lavish, $100,000-per-month compound in the Coldwater Canyon area of Beverly Hills.
She has also long-maintained an opulent, mansion-sized triplex penthouse of almost 13,000 square feet in New York City’s Tribeca, which was designed by celebrated interior decorator Mario Buatta. The five-octave pop diva also maintains a substantial beachfront compound on the prestigious, private and prodigiously pricey Windermere Island in the Bahamas.
