In The Apartments Of The Mountain Kings (And Queens!)

21.11.18

Courchevel 1850 is renowned as the home of some of the world’s finest pistes, as well as for its unrivalled designer shopping and Michelin-starred fine dining. Luke Thomas finds out about the new Six Senses Residences Courchevel, a boutique collection of apartments that raise the bar in six-star mountain living.

A collection of 53 exclusive luxury apartments set in the heart of Courchevel 1850 was always going to be a fast seller. With each having stunning triple aspect mountain views from private balconies and terraces, the properties are flying off of the proverbial shelves – over 80% are now sold.

For purchasers not using their apartment throughout the season, there is the option to rent it out in order to recoup VAT. With rental values for a four-bedroom chalet in high season at Six Senses Residences Courchevel reaching approximately €29,000 per week, and significant investment and improvements taking place across the resort, the properties represent a unique opportunity for buyers looking for a luxury alpine property with income potential.

Jérôme Lagoutte, Head Office Savills French Alps, commented: “This summer has seen a significant uptick in client requests across all levels of the market, including a few that have waited for several years but are now ready to purchase. We expect to see this increased interest at the higher end of the market elevating property prices this season, and with fantastic early snow last season, we’re looking forward to a successful winter ahead.”

World-class chic chalet style

Each of the 53 residences, which include 10 duplex penthouses and 12 superior apartments, celebrate the alpine aesthetic with design by prestigious interior designer, Alain Foeillet. Blending contemporary style with traditional mountain influences, apartments incorporate timber panelling, beams, stone and beautiful, organic materials. Furniture packages by award-winning Morpheus London are also available.

Providing the perfect place to relax after a hard day’s skiing or enjoy an al fresco breakfast in the fresh mountain air, residents enjoy triple-aspect mountain views from private balconies and terraces. For peace of mind, each residence also incorporates the very latest in security and technology, from finger print recognition to user-friendly interfaces which allow residents to manage their property remotely through their smart device. Additional features include a bespoke wine cellar, private sauna and hammam, open fireplaces, dedicated ski lockers, private car parking and storage caves.

A lifestyle like no other

With one-of-a-kind experiences an increasingly important factor for buyers, the residences meet this demand with a distinct brand offering: unrivalled amenities provided by Six Senses’ esteemed service team. According to recent research by Savills, this high level of service, alongside the quality design and security, is a key draw for buyers of branded residences.

Residents will have access to a 24/7 concierge, a residents’ club lounge, private catering and a dedicated ski concierge located in a private chalet under the main ski lift in Courchevel 1850. This season, a new terrace will launch outside of the club lounge for guests and Courchevel residents to enjoy, with sheep-skin covered chairs and vin chaud after a long day on the slopes.

The on-site spa enables residents to unwind after a day on the slopes with holistic spa therapy. Wellness facilities include an indoor pool with a sauna and steam room, a relaxation lounge, juice bar, gym and fitness studio. A range of signature massages, restorative therapies, facials and body treatments are available across five treatment rooms. The prestigious Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas have recently been voted the world’s No. 1 Hotel Brand for the second consecutive year by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.
