An impressive historic stone manor house furnished with a tennis court, and a swimming pool has been listed in the village of Allington, in Wiltshire, England.
The house is on the market for £3.75 million with Savills and was once was once the home of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, who reportedly purchased the property in 1973.
The Duchess’s now husband, Prince Charles, was reportedly a frequent visitor to the estate, along with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Records show evidence of a property on the site of Bolehyde Manor as far back as 700 years ago, but the Grade II*-listed home’s current incarnation was built in the mid- 1600s with sections dating back even further to the 1500s, according to Historic England, the public body tasked with protecting and preserving England’s historic buildings. “Bolehyde Manor is an enchanting house,” according to listing agent Lindsay Cuthill.
The eight-bedroom manor is “steeped in character,” from the heavy oak front door and mullion windows to the large open fireplaces, ornate carved staircase and flagstone floors, which have been smoothed over time, the listing said.
Outside, on its 80 acres, are “stunning” gardens according to Mr. Cuthill, along with a swimming pool, a tennis court, numerous outbuildings, including three cottages, as well as land for organic farming.
