Clarkson Cuts the Cost

Originally listed for $8.75 million in 2017, the stunning Tennessee lake house, owned by the singer-talk-show-host Kelly Clarkson, is now priced at $6.95 million. With current work projects, including her weekly talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show and continuing to appear as judge on The Voice, Clarkson’s life is now more centred on the west coast.  In 2021 Clarkson is releasing a new album, have an additional star added to her Hollywood Walk of Fame and is hoping to start her residency after it was postponed last year.

For almost the past ten years Clarkson has owned the seven-bedroom home in the Nashville-area. The 20,121 square foot house sits on a four-acre plot and is perfectly positioned for amazing views of Old Hickory Lake and offers grassy lawns and wide waters edge. The long-gated driveway leads to the house front car park which features a central fountain.

The gardens of the property are designed in the classic English Garden style and lead down to a covered two-boat boathouse with lift. The exterior of the property also boasts a volleyball sand court, greenhouse, outdoor children’s play area and a poll-spa terrace with a covered pavilion for outdoor dining by a fireplace.

The interior of the property was redesigned by Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock, her husband at the time, after they purchased the home for $2.86 million in 2012. The house opens up to impressive foyer with soaring double staircase. The whole house is designed around the family and for casual entertaining. The house has a family room, movie theatre and light kitchen dinner space. Among the mansion’s most unique featured rooms is a basement level western salon style bar.

The master suite has its own seating area in front of an open fireplace and an elegant master bath. The children’s room includes four built in bunk beds and open play area. With ample rooms for guests and a billiard/games room the house was designed for a social lifestyle. For more practical day to day living, there is a large home gym and a two-level office with a lift for home workouts to home working.

Under a half an hour drive from downtown Nashvile, Hendersonville is known for Old Hickory Lake and the homes surrounding it which have been a popular choice for Nashville’s musical elite since the 1950’s. Country music legends such as Jonny Cash, Lee Ann Womack and Porter Wagoner have lived in the area and enjoyed the outdoor activities the lake offers such as fishing, boating and visiting the local campgrounds.
