Better Connected


Celebrating the momentous Platinum Jubilee this year, the Elizabeth Line is dramatically improving transport links across London and the South East. The new line is giving 1.5 million more people within commuting distance of the City and Canary Wharf and means shorter journey times between popular destinations in the capital.

Lots of new developments along the Elizabeth Line are benefitting from the much-awaited opening, meaning residents are now even better connected across the capital and beyond, Abode2 takes a look at a selection of them

Postmark (Taylor Wimpey Central London) – 10 minutes from Farringdon station

Postmark is set to offer 681 homes and become a new central destination for Londoners; once complete, over half the site will be home to public and private space, including open squares surrounded by retail, and public gardens with play areas.

Featuring four distinct phases, with each designed by a different architect to reflect the architectural mosaic of the area. Upper Riverside at Greenwich Peninsula (Knight Dragon) – minutes from Canary Wharf station

Watermark is Countryside’s new development in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in Maidenhead, delivering 229 modern homes on the banks of Maidenhead Waterways. Watermark is located within ten minutes’ walk of Maidenhead train station. Located on the Elizabeth Line, trains from Maidenhead reach Paddington in 35 minutes and following the full opening of Crossrail, will speed directly to Bond Street in 39 minutes and even Canary Wharf in under an hour.

Maidenhead Station has recently opened a new forecourt, following improvement works designed to make the area more commuter-friendly in anticipation of increased passenger numbers following the opening of the Elizabeth Line.

Countryside has also created a new public plaza at Watermark, which was opened this May by Theresa May MP with 20,000 sq ft of restaurant, café and leisure space, including two new restaurants, a pub and Anytime Fitness gym. This space extends out onto terraced seating with views of York Stream, making this the perfect place to socialise and relax.


Verna at Acton Gardens (Countryside) – seven minute journey from Acton Main Line station
