Tickled Pink By Designer Showcase

If you haven’t already heard, an A-List interior design event will be touching down in London for the first time in November – all for a great cause.

With London Design Festival behind us, one of the next biggest design events on the horizon is the much anticipated Holiday House London.

Having originated across the pond, Holiday House was started ten years ago by breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner. Iris wanted to give back to the breast cancer community somehow and came up with the idea of hosting an event once a year which would bring together a collection of top designers from around the world in a large showhouse.

Each designer is given a space to showcase their unique style with proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF).

Now the event is celebrating its tenth birthday by heading to merry old England for the very first time – with a host of top UK designers on the roster including Susan White of Iggi Interior Design and Phoenix Interior.

Susan and other artists will be designing a room within one of two large St John’s Wood mansions, with styles ranging from rustic and rural to high glamour. Comfortably in the latter is Susan who will be using pink throughout her design as a nod to the underlying cause of the whole event.

But this will not just be a treat for the eyes of all the senses as touch, smell, sound and vision will be stimulated in one way or another via a plethora of mediums. There’ll be a pink feather wall and a giant floor-to-ceiling screen that visitors can interactive with, providing a wholly immersive experience.

Lighting is as important as ever, with Susan going the extra mile by using their limited edition LED-infused wallpaper and one of a kind lighting installations that will visually stimulate visitors.

Finally for sound, beautiful music played on a limited edition Steinway piano will gently carry visitors around the room.

“Holiday House is an incredibly worthy cause and we have all been touched by it in one way or another,” said Susan. “We feel our involvement in this is our way of giving something back. It also gives Interior designers a platform to showcase new concepts and how to rethink space planning.”
