Lisson Gallery Night To Remember

One of the capital’s foremost contemporary galleries, The Lisson, in Marylebone was the go-to address on Thursday March 3rd for an exquisite evening of champagne, networking, and contemporary art hosted by Abode2 luxury property magazine. The reception, held in partnership with the London Management Company, Fortwell Capital and Berkeley Homes, saw 300 invited guests from the world of property, art, media, interior design, and finance enjoy a ‘Private View’ collection of critically-acclaimed work from headline artists including Anish Kapoor, Richard Deacon, Marina Abramovic and Ai Weiwei.

The evening kicked off in style with a champagne reception followed by private guided tours of the curated collections on display chosen specially for the evening by the Corporate Partners. Guests were also able to catch up on current developments in the PCL property market with snapshot briefings on private funding avenues for real estate acquisition and property management as well as an exclusive showcase of one of London’s most talked-about residential projects, One Tower Bridge.

Alongside the curated collections featuring work from celebrated artists Susan Hiller, Julian Opie and Angela de la Cruz, the lower Gallery space was given over to an exclusive portfolio expo from influential British film maker John Akomfrah. This included three thought-provoking film installations, alongside a series of large scale photographs related to the films’ narrative works. A memorable highlight was Auto Da Fé (2016), which translates as Acts Of Faith, a diptych looking at migration through the lens of religious persecution. Presented as a poetic period drama, the film presents a series of eight historical migrations over the last 400 years.
