Crane Resorts

Crane Resorts is a resort development company in Barbados, engaged in the design, construction, sale and operation of luxury resort residences for both Shared and Residential Ownership. Its properties include The Crane and the recently launched Beach Houses.

Internationally renowned as the oldest and longest-operating hotel in the English-speaking Caribbean, The Crane was originally opened in 1887 as an 18 room cliff-top hotel above Crane Beach. Rich in history, culture and heritage, The Crane has and continues to stand as the pinnacle of Caribbean Luxury.

Since the acquisition of The Crane in 1988 by Crane Resorts, owner Paul Doyle has transformed the property from an 18-room hotel to eight apartment buildings housing a total of 232 residences, a large swimming pool complex, restaurants, bars, cafes and retail outlets spread across 40 acres of lush, landscaped gardens.

Crane Resorts has been the impetus in the development of the South East Coast of Barbados. All aspects of the operation from design and construction to daily operations and maintenance are handled by expert in-house teams. This vertical integration has allowed the company to introduce shared ownership at fixed prices, without the pressure and high marketing expense usually associated with the timeshare industry, creating an exchange value for Crane Owners that is unmatched.

In 2007, Crane Resorts acquired 50 ocean-front acres on the East Coast of Barbados, currently being developed as its second luxury resort. Beach Houses feature ultra-luxury, contemporary stand-alone villas and will share the amenities offered at The Crane.

Members choose the ownership type best suited to their lifestyles: pure points, shared ownership and now, residential ownership.

In early 2014, as many original Crane Owners sought to retire in Barbados, Crane Resorts introduced a legal structure purposed for Residential Ownership. The Crane Private Residences were launched in 2014 – 96 luxury condominiums designed for long term living – and after the success of the offering, units at the other properties are also available for Residential Ownership.

Close relationships with owners have allowed Crane Resorts to continue to develop its offering in line with changing international buyer needs and its growing portfolio of properties have evolved into one of the most recognized brands for Resort Property Ownership in the Caribbean.
