Details of a residential investment opportunity on the Cornish coast have been revealed offering the opportunity to create 16 fabulous new homes in the magnificent grounds of an historic manor in the highly sought after town of St Ives.
Planning permission for the development of exclusive, high end properties set in over 3 acres of land at Treloyhan Manor Park was granted in May 2015 with the development opportunity now being released on to the market.
The Treyloyhan Manor Park development is set within part of the extensive grounds of Treyloyhan Manor Hotel in a magnificent ocean scene location overlooking St Ives Bay within the most exclusive residential area of St Ives.
The plan includes permission for eleven detached houses of up to 3,100sqft and a terrace of five large cottages of up to 1,600sqft. When complete, the detached houses could be worth around £1 million and the cottages in excess of £500,000, depending on the final designs. Some nearby houses fall into the £1 million to £2 million price range.
The money raised from selling the land is set to be reinvested in renovating the 19th century Treloyhan Manor Hotel on the same site, protecting more than 30 jobs.
Originally developed by Cornish shipping magnate Sir Edward Hain in 1892, the manor house and grounds were converted into a hotel in 1930.
Hotel owners, Christian Guild, plan to use the money raised to recreate the original Victorian style conservatory. The scheme will create a new entrance and drive way up to the hotel with views over the attractive coastline.
Further improvements to the interiors with a refurbishment and reconfiguration of the accommodation together with five new self- catering hotel cottages will ensure the hotel remains attractive to tourists and visitors.
The UK as a whole has seen a steep rise in the number of foreign tourists recently, with a record 36.1 million visits recorded last year alone. The hotel has access to Hain Walk, which leads down to Porthminster Beach and the award winning Porthminster Café seafood restaurant, as well as being a short walk from the town and harbour.
